{"id":3745,"date":"2025-03-11T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-03-11T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/siteglobal.com\/finding-your-path-with-light-watkins-at-site-global-conference-2025\/"},"modified":"2025-08-27T14:17:10","modified_gmt":"2025-08-27T14:17:10","slug":"finding-your-path-light-watkins-site-global-conference-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/siteglobal.com\/blog\/finding-your-path-light-watkins-site-global-conference-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Finding your path with Light Watkins at SITE Global Conference 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2025 SITE Global Conference attendees enjoyed a keynote address delivered on the final day of the event by mindfulness expert Light Watkins.\u00a0<o:p><\/o:p><\/h2>    <h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">To begin his address, Light shared with the 550+ Global Conference attendees in Tulum that he wanted to spend his time onstage drilling in on the idea of presence \u2014 with an emphasis on how to show up fully in the moment, be responsive, and lead with connection.\u00a0<o:p><\/o:p><\/h3>    <p>Common workplace challenges, Light said, whether you\u2019re concerned about burnout, talent retention, team culture, or even more technical issues like legal snarls to navigate, can all be connected back to the concept of \u201cpresence\u201d once you peel back the layers and explore what\u2019s really going on.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>    <p>Light advised that there are two ways leaders can cultivate more presence. You can wait for life to present you with your next opportunity, he said \u2014 noting that life often has a way of forcing presence on you \u2014 or you can \u201cfront-load\u201d presence, by getting rid of stress that\u2019s blocking your time and preventing you from fully being in the moment.\u00a0<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>    <p>The second option, Light said, is a stellar way to create a stronger company culture that will also help you attract better talent. Nodding to the hip-hop mantra of \u201cgame recognizing game,\u201d Light emphasized the importance of cultivating a work environment that supports and nurtures presence across the organization.\u00a0<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>    <p>Doing so, he said, will also unlock more creative solutions, as you start accessing different parts of your brain (a nice nod to the <a href=\"https:\/\/siteglobal.com\/blog\/call-curiosity-open-site-global-conference-2025\">opening remarks<\/a> delivered by SITE CEO Annette Gregg!) and helps you tap into bigger picture thinking.\u00a0<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>    <p>Being more present also doesn\u2019t require you to increase your current workload, Light added \u2014 in fact, presence can also help you do less!\u00a0<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>    <p>Light also brought plenty of tips and advice into his keynote that drew on his background as a yoga teacher and meditation expert. \u201cMaster the art of doing nothing,\u201d Light coached attendees, as a solid first step in cultivating front-loaded presence.\u00a0<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>    <p>As he walked attendees through a simple one-minute meditation, Light highlighted how regular meditation practices can be more straightforward and simpler than many might think.\u00a0<\/p>    <p>Focus on how you feel and adopt a \u201cthis is good\u201d mindset when moving into a meditative practice, Light said, rather than focusing exclusively on your posture, breathwork, or a repetitive mantra.\u00a0<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>    <p>Light recommended starting with a simple one-minute mindful moment each day, while gradually building up the amount of time you spend on reflection and introspection, as long as each day\u2019s period of time leaves you wanting more \u2014 as a straightforward way to say in a \u201cthis is good\u201d headspace.\u00a0<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>    <p>Ultimately, \u201cyou can\u2019t be off your path,\u201d Light said, as he began closing out his keynote address.\u00a0<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>    <p>Leaning into practices that help leaders stay present \u2014 whether it\u2019s a one-minute meditative moment, or something else entirely \u2014 will help serve, facilitate, and inspire you to shape that path into opportunities and insights that are right for you, at a given moment in time.\u00a0<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>    <p>You\u2019ll start to see opportunities, Light said, with practicing that \u201cart of doing nothing\u201d key in tuning into what\u2019s definitively right for you and your business.\u00a0<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>    <p>Seeing the full path in front of you isn\u2019t the goal, Light concluded.
