Building a strong foundation in incentive travel
The Certified Incentive Specialist (CIS) is SITE’s entry-level professional credential for individuals seeking a foundational understanding of the incentive travel industry. Offered fully online and self-paced, the CIS Online Course provides flexible access to core industry education for professionals and students around the world.
Upon registration, candidates receive immediate access to recorded course modules, PDF slide decks, and the CIS Exam. Participants have 90 days from registration to complete the course and exam at their own pace. The course is available in both English and Spanish.
Course content covers the fundamentals of incentive travel, including the origins of incentive programs, the incentive travel value chain, program design and budgeting, motivational strategies, and industry tools and platforms. CIS is intended as a stepping stone for emerging professionals, faculty, students, and those transitioning into the incentive segment of the meetings and events industry.
To further support candidates, SITE now offers monthly CIS Online Office Hours as an optional add-on. These live, instructor-led sessions take place at the end of each month and provide candidates with the opportunity to ask questions, review concepts, and receive real-time guidance while preparing for the exam.
Candidates who pass the exam will receive a downloadable CIS certificate and join SITE’s global community of Certified Incentive Specialists.
